House 20: Garden
What is happening in public, in a network, or in a group?
The House of the Garden takes you out of private life to look at what is happening in front of others or with them.
A group forms. Information circulates. An event brings together people who might not otherwise meet.
Look at the card in position 20 and ask: “What is happening in public, in a network, or in a group?”
It may show what becomes public, what connects people, or the atmosphere of a gathering.
Start with the scene you know
For an event already planned, the card may speak of what happens there. For an activity, it may show the audience or network.
If your question concerns a place, the Garden may also point to a shared space, a market, or an outdoor place.
You do not need to look for all these possibilities. Choose the one that fits the subject of your reading.
The Birds: words circulate in the group
The Birds speak of conversations, exchanges, and agitation.
In the House of the Garden, they may show a group discussion, calls between members of a network, or a rumor becoming public.
The Garden places the exchanges in a social space. The Birds invite you to listen to what circulates there, without guaranteeing that everything is true.
The Bouquet: an invitation to share
The Bouquet speaks of an invitation, a welcome, or pleasure offered.
In position 20, it may show an enjoyable gathering, an invitation to an event, or a group that welcomes people warmly.
Here, pleasure takes a social form. It does not yet tell the depth of the bonds that may form.
The Tower: an official gathering or withdrawal
The Tower may speak of an institution or distance.
If you are looking at a professional event, it may show an official meeting or one organized by an institution.
If you are looking at someone's place in a group, it may instead show them keeping to the sidelines. The subject helps you choose the useful question.
What if Garden falls in its own House?
Garden in the House of the Garden confirms that the situation is unfolding in public, in a network, or among a group. The public, a community, a gathering, or an event becomes the main setting of the story.
Notice who comes together, what circulates between people, and what is becoming more visible. A favorable card around Garden may support cooperation. A more difficult card may show what exposure makes harder or reveals.
This self-placement makes the group impossible to ignore. It does not promise that everyone will applaud.
Being visible changes the situation
Other people's attention may help a project become known. It may also expose a difficulty or make a conversation less free.
So the House of the Garden does not promise popularity. The card there shows what is happening in this shared space.
Simply ask yourself: “What is leaving the private circle here?”
