House 22: Crossroads

What choice needs to be made?

The House of the Crossroads speaks of choices, possibilities, and decisions to make.

It may concern any area of life: choosing between two relationships, accepting or turning down a job, moving or staying, spending or saving, continuing a project or changing direction.

In the Grand Tableau, the card that falls in the House of the Crossroads helps you understand where the choice lies and what to consider before deciding.

What does the card in this House show?

The card may first show what the choice is about.

If you find the Heart here, for example, the decision may concern love or a relationship.

But if you already know what decision you need to make, the card may also show an option or a way forward.

That is what makes this House interesting: the same card does not always answer in exactly the same way. It depends on the question you ask your Grand Tableau.

Crossroads + Heart

The Heart speaks of love, feelings, desire, and what matters to us.

In the House of the Crossroads, it may show a choice in love.

Should I continue this relationship? Which of two people should I choose? Am I choosing what I truly want?

If the decision is already clear, the Heart may also show that feelings matter a great deal in this choice.

Crossroads + Anchor

The Anchor speaks of stability, duration, and what stays in place.

In the House of the Crossroads, it may raise a very concrete question:

Do I stay or do I change?

This may concern work, a relationship, a place to live, or a situation that has been established for a long time.

The Anchor may show that staying is one possibility. It may also show that the choice concerns something you are hesitant to leave.

Crossroads + Snake

The Snake speaks of detours, complications, and paths that are not straight.

In the House of the Crossroads, it may show an option that is more complicated than expected or a choice that calls for another route.

This is not necessarily a bad choice.

Sometimes the most interesting path is simply not the most direct.

What if Crossroads fall in their own House?

When Crossroads fall in the House of the Crossroads, the choice itself becomes one of the Grand Tableau’s knots. Several directions may be open, or a decision left hanging may be taking up too much space.

This position may show the dizziness of having too many options. Before asking which path is “the right one,” look at what each one seems to open, close, or require. The surrounding cards offer clues about the consequences.

Self-placement does not decide for you. It mainly shows that staying at the crossroads forever is also a way of choosing.

What if several choices are possible?

The card in the House of the Crossroads does not necessarily show every option by itself.

It draws your attention to one important part of the choice.

Then look at the rest of the Grand Tableau.

The cards around the people, projects, or situations involved may help you understand what each direction could bring.

The House of the Crossroads does not choose for you.

Instead, it shows you:

“Here is where the choice lies. Now look at the paths opening in front of you.”
